After Rakul Preet Singh's name popped up in drug case revolving around Sushant Singh Rajput's death , the actress moved to Delhi High Court against alleged media trial
It was earlier reported that actress Rakul Preet Singh has moved to Delhi High Court to complain about the alleged media trials carried out against her after her name popped up in a drug case related to Sushant Singh Rajput's death. Reportedly, Rhea Chakraborty, who is said to be the prime accused in this case, revealed names of stars like Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh to the Narcotics Control Bureau. Now, as Rakul knocked on the doors of the High Court, interim directions have not been issued to media channels.
As reported by ANI, Delhi High Court has directed,"Centre, Prasar Bharati and News Broadcasters Association to consider Rakul Preet Singh's plea as a representation and expeditiously decide it including any interim directions that ought to be issued." The High Court reportedly said, "It is hoped that media houses and TV channels would show restraint and abide by the Program Code and other guidelines while making any report in connection with Rakul." It further added, "Even if action is taken against one channel, it will send a message to others.”
Rhea Chakraborty who was arrested on September 8 is said to have revealed quite a few names of Bollywood stars who consume drugs to NCB. It is being reported that the investigating agency will soon send out summons to celebrities for interrogation.
The NCB came into action after a few chats of Rhea and her friends allegedly discussing drugs were procured by the Enforcement Directorate. Rhea's brother Showik Chakraborty too stands arrested and is in jail. They are expected to move to Bombay High Court with bail application.
